State Senator (D-33)/Union City Mayor Brian Stack and Assemblyman Gabriel Rodriguez are decrying recent raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), calling their actions “hateful and unjust treatment of undocumented residents.”

“These unnecessary and dangerous ICE actions in Newark are a chilling reminder of the ongoing attempts to intimidate, silence, and marginalize undocumented individuals in our communities,” the duo said in a joint statement.
“It is deeply heartbreaking to witness the hateful and unjust treatment of undocumented residents here in New Jersey and across the country. These actions are deliberate attempts to instill fear, but we refuse to allow fear to force our communities into the shadows.”
While their reaction was to Thursday’s ICE raid at seafood market in Newark, HudPost reported that at least one man was detained by ICE in West New York this morning.
LD-33 consists of West New York, Union City, North Bergen, Guttenberg, and Secaucus.
“They [Stack and Rodriguez] are awaiting additional details from the authorities to ensure they accurately highlight the key information regarding the ICE sighting and share the most impactful updates with the community,” noted Jocelyn Rojas, Rodriguez’s chief of staff.
ICE did not immediately return an email seeking comment.
“Now more than ever, it is critical that we stand united with Latinos and minorities across this country. We take immense pride in standing up for those who cannot,” Stack and Rodriguez added.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to this cause and will continue to fight to ensure that every individual in our state is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. Together, we must continue to defend and support one another and ensure New Jersey remains a place where compassion, justice, and unity prevail over fear and division.”
NO One chooses where, or into what family to be born. Senator Stack and Assemblyman Rodriguez deserve great credit for standing up for the defenseless. The local Republicans in Hudson County, PARTICULARLY the Hispanic ones, have a lot of nerve standing with Trump on this issue. We all lock our doors at night. Our southern border must be secured. Trump took a substantial border deal off the table because he did not want Biden to benefit. If Trump is really serious about this issue, he will cancel his plans to extend the very inequitable tax breaks on the wealthy and raise taxes on the wealthy, instead. Then, he should apply most of that added tax revenue towards border wall construction. Undocumented criminals should be deported. Non-criminals who are undocumented could be employed to build the border wall, earning credits to stay here. In this regard we should be lenient. Any Citizen of our Country who says they wouldn’t try to go to another country for safety, if the shoe was on the other foot is a hypocrite.

Why doesn’t Ravi go off to WNY or Newark and protect the illegals as every anti-American should? He can take Jessica and Katie Brennan with him to virtue signal for the illegal criminals. Trump got almost 8,000 votes in Union City alone, over 9,000 in North Bergen, over 5,400 in West New York. Those are not MAGA voters. They are protest votes against politicians putting illegals first and honest citizen families last. Keep betraying your residents and see how that turns out.

Stack’s own Union City has thousands of illegals crammed in basements who take jobs and services away from legal Latinos first. While claiming fake asylums.

To correct the gross deliberate ( or ignorant ) characterization of modern Democrats: I haven’t seen modern Southern Republicans and some of their associated MAGA cohorts so upset with the term Woke, though it does make sense, since a majority of their great-great granddaddies were slave-owning Democrats, whose grandsons and great grandsons became Republicans as a knee-jerk, racist reaction to American Blacks beginning to switch from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party starting with FDR.
And of the voters who came to vote, Donald Trump still lost in all those municipalities. The fact of the matter is that the Hudson County View comments section is a right-wing cesspool that doesn’t reflect Hudson County, its people, or its values. Cry about it. Democrats will continue to win in this county by massive margins while you pray to your orange god to smite poor people.
Stack and Rodriguez can go to the Devil. This country is broke and the costs of this massive invasion is unbearable. Why don’t they take an illegal into their homes? I didn’t think so.
