Secaucus PD arrests 2 men for kidnapping, cache of drugs, at Rodeway Inn

The Secaucus Police Department arrested two men on Sunday for kidnapping and possessing a cache of drugs at the Rodeway Inn hotel in town, Police Chief Dennis Miller announced.

On March 2nd at approximately 3:19 P.M., the Secaucus PD responded to the Rodeway Inn, located at 155 Route 3 East, on a report of a victim being held against their will in a room while one of his/her captors was threatening him/her with a hypodermic needle.

When police arrived at the room they located the adult victim and escorted him/her to safety, while simultaneously detaining two man, identified as Kevin Bazemore and Brandon Bialek.

The on-scene investigation revealed that Bazemore physically restrained the victim, who was known to him, and would not allow the victim to leave the hotel room for over two hours.

Additionally, Bialek sat in front of the hotel room door while holding a large needle in an effort to prevent the victim from leaving the room. The two were subsequently arrested.

Responding patrol officers observed quantities of narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view strewn around the room.

Detectives from the Secaucus Police Anti-Crime Unit, supported by the Secaucus Police K-9 Unit, later executed a court authorized search of the room and seized over one ounce of suspected methamphetamine along with quantities of suspected cocaine and GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate).

Additionally, various quantities of prescription legend drugs were seized.

“Nefarious acts at our hotels will not be tolerated. These arrests are a vivid example of how the various divisions and units of the Secaucus Police Department work collaboratively to support one another toward our common goal and I am extremely proud of their work,” Miller said in a statement.

Kevin Bazemore, 44, of Hackensack, and Brandon Bialek, 39, of Lodi, were each charged with kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, criminal restraint, and conspiracy to commit criminal restraint.

Additionally, Bialek is charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with the intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, possession of GHB, possession with the intent to distribute GHB, and three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Bazemore was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia before they were lodged an the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
