“Our neighbors are tired of promises that have gone unkept—from addressing unsafe e-bike drivers to a budgetary crisis, from a housing shortage to recreation signup processes that leave families in the dust. What I’m proposing will reinforce our city’s core competencies, make headway in finally addressing our budgetary structural deficit, and position us for much-needed progress,” he said in a statement.

“My opponents are talking about what issues they hope to solve in four years; I’m talking about what I will absolutely do in my first three months if voters choose to support me and my dedicated team of city council candidates. I invite every resident of Hoboken to visit russoforhoboken.com/100 now and read Team Russo’s solutions.”

His plan also calls for ticketing unsafe or otherwise noncompliant e-bike delivery drivers without exception, introducing right-to-counsel (RTC) legislation to protect tenants from unjust eviction, and simplifying parking signage.

Furthermore, Russo pledges to immediately reviewing and streamlining administrative overhead, as well as conducting a review of infrastructure to be upgraded in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

He also wants to “complete a sweeping audit of our organizational structure” at City Hall, improve the Nixle alert system, improve the recreation sign up processes, addresses the rodent infestation process, and upgrade the Hop all within the first 30 days.

The non-partisan November 4th mayoral race also features 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Russo, 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos, Councilwoman-at-Large Emily Jabbour, former U.S. Treasury official Dini Ajmani, and perennial candidate Pat Waiters.

  1. “Let me propose all the things I’ve voted against for the last 20 years I’ve been on the city council.”

This is one of the most unserious proposals from an unserious candidate who is both literally and morally bankrupt.

  2. Remember when Mayor Russo appointed his wife to head up the Hoboken Parking Authority and tow yard?
Remember hearing the phrase “FIVE BUCKS A TOW ?
Remember how Mrs Russo suddenly became real-estate exec for a huge developmet on the West Side o Hoboken? Remember all the law suits.

    No ?
    Google it

  3. He wouldn’t do more than a few of these things in his first year, never mind first month. Hopefully, there are enough reasonably aware voters in town who know the real Mike Russo, and we’ll never have to worry about it.

  4. This from the public servant who believes we should never have to raise taxes. While I agree with him on that point, unless he is willing to make specific changes that are not clearly outlined here – reviewing and auditing are not enough. He has been a councilman since “God was a little boy” and has a hand in this runaway budget — and should not be allowed to run from that. How much do his developer buddies pay in taxes? How many of his family members live in subsidized housing, paying less than market rents while those who truly need that space are left to search? He cannot have it both ways anymore….. and needs to start providing some specifics….
