A 28-year-old Bayonne man has been charged with fatally stabbing a 41-year-old Garfield man late last night, Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello announced.

Shortly before 10:20 p.m. on Monday, the Bayonne Police Department was notified of a dispute at 17 Meadow Street. Responding officers located a man – later identified as Richard Arcos, 41, of Garfield – with an apparent stab wound, Mello said in a statement.
He was pronounced dead just after 11:15 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
During the course of the investigation, Andrew Fuentes, 28, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated manslaughter, possession of a weapon (knife) for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon (knife).
He was taken into custody at the scene and this matter is being investigated as a domestic dispute.
Mello credited the Homicide Unit and the Bayonne Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
