“Our priority is keeping North Bergen residents safe during this storm. Our crews will be working throughout the weekend, 24 hours a day, to clear roads and respond to rapidly changing conditions,” Vainieri said in a statement.

“We are ready to mobilize immediately and remain on the job for as long as necessary.”

Late Friday, members of the board of commissioners and department heads met to coordinate response efforts, review storm projections, and ensure all municipal resources are fully prepared ahead of the weekend weather event.

DPW crews have pre-treated roadways, staged equipment throughout the township, and are prepared to operate around the clock as conditions warrant.

All plows and spreaders have been inspected, fueled, and positioned, with crews ready to respond as soon as snow begins to fall and throughout the duration of the storm.

Additionally, Mayor Nick Sacco and the commissioners are coordinating closely with DPW, the police department, and emergency management officials to monitor weather conditions and address any issues that may arise.

Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel during the height of the storm, move vehicles off snow emergency routes when possible, and not throw or plow snow into the street, as doing so creates hazardous conditions and interferes with snow removal operations.

The township will continue to provide updates as the storm approaches and conditions evolve. For emergencies, residents should call 911. Non-emergency issues may be reported to the North Bergen DPW.
