LETTER: U.S. Senator Bob Menendez should resign, Republican PAC says

The following is a letter to the editor from the Empowerment Political Action Committee (PAC), calling for the resignation of U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) in the aftermath of a CNN report that says corruption charges from the U.S. Department of Justice are forthcoming.

Bob Menendez’s actions are all about the entitlement mentality we at The Empowerment PAC believe is the main cause of many of our country’s current problems. We stand for an emphasis on Empowerment, not entitlement, as the way to restore America to greatness.

Politicians like Bob Menendez are the reason that New Jerseyans and citizens all across America are so distrustful of their elected officials.

Those officials and their donors have a sense of entitlement that is at odds with the needs of ordinary Americans. At a time when Washington is at a crossroads, the investigation into his disgraceful behavior detracts from his ability to continue to serve the people of New Jersey.

So, as to avoid distracting attention from the important issues we face, Senator Menendez needs to immediately resign.

Brian D. Goldberg

Empowerment PAC Chairman

Editor’s Note: At a press conference Friday night, Menendez denied any wrongdoing and said he has no plans to step down from office.
