In a letter to the editor, Hoboken resident Michael J. Tennaro explains why he’s backing 3rd Ward Councilman Mike Russo for mayor.

Dear Editor,

As a proud resident of Hoboken for the past 24 years, I’ve faced and overcome many physical challenges, yet this city has always embraced my independence.

With the help of an electric scooter and crutches, I’ve navigated our streets, always feeling supported by our inclusive and compassionate community.

One of the individuals who has consistently demonstrated that same commitment to inclusivity and service is Dr. Michael Russo.

As Hoboken’s longest-serving council member, Mike has spent over two decades improving the lives of residents.

His deep knowledge as a lifelong Hobokenite, his quick responsiveness to community needs, and his unwavering dedication to public service have left a lasting impact on so many—especially those with disabilities, including myself.

Having worked with Mike both as a disabled resident and as a former Disabled Parking Committee member, I can personally attest to his tireless advocacy for a more accessible, safer, and stronger Hoboken.

With his recent announcement to run for mayor, I have no doubt that he will bring leadership, integrity, and real solutions to the challenges facing our city.

That’s why I am proud to endorse Dr. Michael Russo as the next Mayor of Hoboken.

Thank you, Mike, for your years of dedication and for always standing up for those who need it most.
