In a letter to the editor, Hoboken resident Steve Bishop says Hoboken Republican voters should be motivated by President Donald Trump’s (R) victory in November and that now is not the time to relent.
Dear Hoboken GOP voter,
We are less than (1) month in to the Trump administration 2.0, and the progress has been astonishing & inspiring. What a great time to be a patriotic American!
On November 5th, Patriots all over the land came out to support the GOP and save our country, at least temporarily. But now is not the time to sit back with popcorn and enjoy the show.
There is a lot of work to be done to save our country, and not just in Washington DC, but right here in Hoboken and across New Jersey.
The November 5th election win does not mean, “Game Over, it means Game On!”
It may seem like Republicans are greatly outnumbered, in a sea of “liberals” here in Hudson County.
But you may be surprised to learn that there are approximately 8,000 registered Republicans in Hoboken! (And 16,000 Independents) In Hudson County, there are 50,000 GOP registered voters.
The 2025 Gubernatorial election presents a tremendous opportunity to flip New Jersey RED! Jack Ciattarelli ran in 2021 and lost by a slim 3%. Jack is running again this year along with other candidates, and a Republican has a great chance to win.
In 2021, Ciattarelli received only 3,683 votes in Hoboken. With 8,000 registered Republicans in Hoboken, if everyone gets out to vote, the vote total will more than double!
It is up to all of us to leverage the “revolution of common sense” we are witnessing; get off the couch, lift our heads from our screens, and mobilize the strength of the GOP base here in Hoboken to help turn New Jersey RED!

Thank you Steve Bishop.. do not forget about those registered democrats that now align with the republican agenda and will vote differently in the next election.
Mr Bishop that includes dead and moved people. Unless you, yourself send them notice and ask to be removed, they assume you might one day vote. That makes it difficult to remove someone and thus disenfranchise them. Tearing down the constitution is not patriotic.
The Federal Government is out of control. This country is heading towards financial Armageddon. The news coming out of all the thievery and corruption of the Biden administration is shocking. Thank God Trump won.
The number of registered republicans is inflated by machine democrats who flip in order to control the town and county committee and keep the party toothless. Hoboken is a people’s republic. Now go run and bring me back some more avocado toast
County committee election petitions are going on now, so get involved and be the change you want to see. At this point your comments probably only hold true for Union City.
