“Since announcing our candidacy for Assembly, we have made it clear that stopping corruption and waste is a major priority and that the political machine which has run Hudson County for decades must come to an end,” Hector and Alonso said in a joint statement.

“We cannot think of a better person than Joe Blaettler to help make that vision a reality and work with us to get our message out and connect with voters across the 33rd District.”

Blaettler is a longtime political adversary of state Senator (D-33)/Union City Mayor Brian Stack, who is now the president of East Coast Private Investigations and an adjunct professor of leadership and supervision in law enforcement and ethics.

As a Union City police lieutenant, he served as the police liaison between the mayor’s office and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

“The Stack political machine has destroyed Hudson County and it’s time for a change, so I’m thrilled to join Tony Hector and Frank Alonso’s campaign to restore integrity, transparency and leadership to our legislative delegation,” added Blaettler.

“Tony and Frank have the courage and fortitude to stand up for the people against the political machine, and I’m proud to join them in that fight.”

Hector and Alonso are running on Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop’s gubernatorial ticket, which also includes County Sheriff Frank Schillari.

Stack is supporting Assemblyman Gabriel Rodriguez and Larry Wainstein, who ran against Mayor Nick Sacco three times unsuccessfully.

That duo also has the support of the Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) and they do not have a campaign chair at this time, according to campaign finance records.

The HCDO, which includes Stack, are supporting U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-11) for governor and Bayonne Mayor Jimmy Davis for sheriff in the June 10th primary.
