“The opening of our Union City center represents a heartfelt commitment to creating a brighter future for the LGBTQ+ community in Hudson County. This new space will allow us to connect with individuals who need us most, providing a place where they can feel valued, supported, and truly at home,” HPC Executive Director Elizabeth Schedl said in a statement.
“Our new center allows us to break down barriers and provide much-needed services to individuals who may have faced challenges accessing our Jersey City location. We are thrilled to be a visible presence in Union City, where every member of our community can feel seen and supported.”
The new location is at 4428 Bergenline Ave., specifically the ground floor of a storefront space that is a central location for North Hudson residents that would likely not venture to 3000 John F. Kennedy Blvd. in Jersey City.
“The Hudson Pride Center in Union City will serve as a vital resource for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a safe and welcoming space that fosters connection, support, and advocacy. This center empowers individuals and strengthens our community,” added state Senator (D-33)/Union City Mayor Brian Stack.
“Hudson County is one of the most diverse and welcoming communities in the United States, and Hudson Pride’s expansion into Union City highlights this commitment to inclusiveness. I applaud Elizabeth Schedl’s efforts to bring Hudson Pride’s resources to Union City, and I want to thank Mayor Brian Stack for ensuring the LGTQ+ community has a home in Union City,” noted County Executive Craig Guy.
The Union City center is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., providing essential resources and programs to visitors.
“This expansion reflects Hudson Pride Center’s steadfast commitment to equity and inclusion. The Union City location allows us to reach more individuals in need and underscores our dedication to fostering belonging and accessibility for all,” exclaimed HPC Board Chair Ben Feldman.
