The newly promoted sergeants are Juan Mendoza Jr., Yvette Scarpa, Eric Hutchinson, and Daniel Rivera. They were sworn in at a ceremony with Sheriff Jimmy Davis on Wednesday.
They all have at least a decade of experience, with Rivera approaching 20 years, earning several different accolades along the way.
Warren ran for the Jersey City Ward A council seat on former Gov. Jim McGreevey’s ticket and challenged Councilwoman Denise Ridley in the December 2nd runoff, losing by about 10 points.
She previously worked as the director of the New Jersey City University (NJCU) Center for Teacher Preparation.
Miranda is a Kearny resident who served on the town planning board, as well as president of the Latino Veterans of New Jersey.
Warren and Miranda join returning Undersheriff Ramon Vasquez, a retired Union City police lieutenant.
