“This event was a tremendous success and I thank Craig Guy, Assemblyman Mukherji, Commissioner Romano, and everyone else who joined us,” Hoboken Council President Emily Jabbour, who is also the founder of the Hudson branch of Moms Demand Action, said in a statement.

“We organized this walk to show that mothers, parents, and all residents of Hudson County are fed up with the status quo and are demanding change. Support from Democratic leaders like Craig Guy is critical to our goal of ending gun violence.”

The walk began at the Water’s Soul statue on the Jersey City waterfront and continued to Sinatra Park in Hoboken.

Others in attendance included Jersey City Ward E Councilman James Solomon, Hoboken Councilman-at-Large Joe Quintero, Hoboken Democratic Committee Chair Rachel Hodes, Hudson County commissioner candidate Ron Bautista, and Hudson County executive candidate Craig Guy.

“Gun violence is an epidemic in our country and I was proud to join community leaders and advocates [Saturday] morning to say this — enough is enough and it’s time for Republicans in Congress to stop blocking responsible gun safety legislation like the assault weapons ban,” added Guy.

“With deadly mass shootings continuing to happen all over the country and with persistent gun violence even here in some places in Hudson County, we all need to use our voices and our platforms to call for an end to the violence and for Congress to finally act.”
