“We are eager to send him back to Washington so he can continue his work on behalf of our members living in the Eighth District.”

HTC represents approximately 6,000 members in Northern New Jersey, many of whom live and work in New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District.

Menendez won Tuesday’s primary, defeating Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla by about 15 points. Kyle Jasey finished in a very distant third place.

“I am grateful to be supported by the hard-working men and women of HTC. From strong pro-union legislation like the Working Families Task Force Act and the PRO Act, to standing side-by-side with our brothers and sisters on the picket line, we will continue the work,” Menendez added.

“And to do so, we’re going to keep partnering together to keep up the good fight for our working families, for the rights of workers, for livable wages, and so much more.”

Menendez has to clear one more hurdled to serve another two-year term in the House, taking on Republican nominee Anthony Valdes in the November 5th general election.

Given that the 8th District is one of the bluest in the country, winning the Democratic nomination his historically been akin to getting re-elected.
