Davis entered the party  wearing a cowboy hat before addressing the full house.

“Hudson County finally has got a sheriff that’s not a coward! We got a sheriff that’s gonna work with the people, all the people of Hudson County,” Davis said to cheers.

“Their guys just ended today! Go home, enjoy your retirement.”

He thanked the North Hudson Democrats who supported him, starting with state Senator (D-33)/Union City Mayor Brian Stack.

“We’re going to put Hudson County back together as one. That will start tomorrow,” Davis declared.

He thanked many and then introduced HCDO Chair Craig Guy.

“You’re only missing the horse Jim,” Guy joked referring, to the cowboy hat.

He noted Sherrill will be the Democratic gubernatorial nominee to cheers.

“Jimmy put up with a lot of bull, BS during this campaign. But everybody in Hudson County saw Jimmy Davis … for who he is … a gentleman, a professional, and our next Sheriff of Hudson County!”

He then congratulated Hudson County Commissioner Walker on his Assembly win in the 31st Legislative District.

“Jerry Walker is a big guy with an even bigger heart!” Guy said to applause.

“Our second Assembly seat is just about a dead heat,” he noted, with Assemblywoman Barbara McCann Stamato, Bayonne 2nd Ward Councilwoman Jackie Weimmer, and Assemblyman Will Sampson, Walker’s running mate, all within striking distance.

Guy praised Stack “who kicked some ass in District 33,” referring to the big Assembly wins for Rodriguez and Wainstein.

“As personal as it was for Jimmy Davis, it was even more personal for Brian Stack. What they put Brian Stack through up there is way out of line,” he declared.

“The good guys prevailed at the end of the day,” Guy said to cheers.

He then invited Walker to speak.

“When they talk about party bosses and stuff, I don’t look at it that way. I look at it as a team concept,” Walker argued, stating that Sampson is his partner regardless of the outcome.

“I had never negative stuff talked about like that. I can’t get it together in my mind.”

“But look, I think I should buy me a Rolex watch,” he joked to cheers, referring to a negative attack flyer he deemed racist.

“I’m happy to say this right here: Steven Fulop, you lost!” Walker proclaimed to cheers, looking directly into HCV’s camera.

Walker, who lost the mayoral race to Fulop in 2013, have always had an icy relationship and the assemblyman-elect was expectedly delighted to see him come in third place in the governor’s race.
