Hudson County Mayors Steven Fulop, Nick Sacco and Brian Stack, as well as community activist Larry Wainstein, all played their part to make sure those less fortunate had a scrumptious turkey dinner on their plate for Thanksgiving.Â

Fulop, the Jersey City Mayor, helped the Jersey City Youth Foundation distribute approximately 7,400 turkeys at the Jersey City Medical Center on Saturday, with Care Point Health also contributing to the cause.
Sacco, the North Bergen mayor, as well as the State Senator of the 32nd district, handed out turnkeys, canned goods and trimmings to over 500 North Bergen residents at the township recreation center at 6300 Meadowview Ave. on Monday.
The event was organized by North Bergen Emergency Relief.
Stack, the Union City mayor and State Senator of the 33rd district, is notorious for handing out an unfathomable amount of poultry for turkey day, teaming up with Senate President Stephen Sweeney (D-3) to give away 20,000 turkeys on Sunday.
Additionally, Wainstein, the leader of the North Bergen Concerned Citizens Group who many expect to run a ticket against Sacco in the May 2015 North Bergen election, hosted a formal dinner at Schuetzen Park last Friday, where he says roughly 1,800 residents came out to kickoff the holiday season.
“It was an honor to be among many friends, family, and neighbors. The turnout was very humbling, as many residents expressed their passion for positive change in North Bergen,” Wainstein told Hudson County View in an email.
“I would personally like to thank all the volunteers who donated countless hours in making this event a great success. We will continue to provide free classes and social services to all and be a voice for those in need of help.”Â
