Four Secaucus police officers have been credits with successfully resuscitating a man yesterday afternoon after he was found unresponsive on Julianne Terrace.

On March 18th at approximately 3:57 p.m., the Secaucus Police Department responded to the 200 block of Julianne Terrace, on a report of an unresponsive male, who was not breathing, Police Chief Dennis Miller in a statement.
Upon arrival, Sgt. Nicholas Spangenberg and Police Officer Thomas Schaffer immediately began Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
While performing CPR, Police Officers Matthew Cutola and Thomas Spuler readied their Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and assisted with CPR until the arrival Hudson Regional Hospital EMT’s.
HRH EMT’s continued CPR and were later assisted by Jersey City Medical Center Paramedics. A pulse was found shortly thereafter and the victim ultimately regained consciousness.
The victim was transported to Hudson Regional Hospital by EMT’s and Jersey City Medical Center Paramedics. As of this writng, the victim remains in stable condition in the hospital.
“The continuous training of Secaucus police officers once again proved fruitful and saved another life. I am extremely proud of these officers and their quick response,” Miller said in a statement.
“However, I would be negligent if I did not give praise to Hudson Regional Hospital’s EMS and Jersey City Medical Center’s Paramedics for their ongoing commitment to the safety of the residents of the Town of Secaucus.”
