Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify the driver involved in a Halloween hit-and-run in Downtown Jersey City last week that left a pedestrian in critical, but stable, condition.

On October 31st at approximately 11:05 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to the intersection of Christopher Columbus Drive and Grove Street on a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at that location, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
Upon arrival, Jersey City police officers found that a male pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that left the scene of the collision.
The pedestrian has been identified as a 36-year-old from Jersey City. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services where he is currently being treated for his injuries. The man remains in critical condition, but he is stable, officials said.
During the preliminary investigation by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department, it was discovered that the pedestrian had been struck while attempting to cross Christopher Columbus Drive.
The suspected vehicle has been identified as a 2008-2010 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The vehicle is light in color, possibly gray or silver, as shown in the photos above.
Investigators believe that the Chrysler Town & Country has side mirrors that are black and the passenger side mirror might be missing from the vehicle.
Additionally, the minivan has window tinting on the rear windows and would likely have damage to the lower right side of the front bumper area.
According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling east on Christopher Columbus Drive toward Grove Street where the vehicle allegedly struck the pedestrian.
The same vehicle then continued east on Christopher Columbus Avenue before turning north on Greene Street.
Investigators are currently asking the public for assistance in identifying the vehicle.
