Authorities investigating Guttenberg hit-and-run that badly injured pedestrian

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Guttenberg Police Department are investigating a hit-and-run that badly injured a pedestrian early Saturday morning, Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Just after 2:10 a.m. yesterday, the Guttenberg Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Park Avenue and 70th Street. Responding officers located a 28-year-old man with life threatening injuries, Suarez said in a statement.

The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains in critical, but stable condition.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Guttenberg PD are actively investigating the circumstances of this matter.
