A Jersey City man was charged with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy that was in his care, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
Leon Rueda, 63, of Jersey City, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault, both second-degree crimes.
Rueda was arrested on Wednesday, January 6th at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion for detention pending trial which will be heard on Tuesday, January 12th.
Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.
