Devon Robinson, 27, from Hoboken, was charged with throwing bodily fluid at a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera.

On Thursday, May, 14th at about 6:45 p.m., Officers Francis McCourt and Nicklas Valerius conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of 111 14th St. The vehicle was being operated by Robinson, a man that was known to them, officials said.

The officers were on patrol when they observed Robinson driving a blue Subaru. He was observed failing to signal when making a right turn and then failing to move right and stop for an emergency vehicle.

McCourt and Valerius were aware that Robinson had a warrant for his arrest. Upon making the motor vehicle stop, he was placed under arrest and he was found to be in possession of suspect marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Robinson was escorted to the radio car and was being placed in the back seat when he spit at Valerius and McCourt, which landed on the bottom part of their pant legs. Robinson was transported to police headquarters and his vehicle was towed, authorities said.

His charges were placed on a warrant and Robinson was also issued three motor vehicle summonses: failure to signal turn, failure to move right and stop for emergency vehicle, and driving while license suspended.

Robinson was then remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, officials said.
