A Bayonne woman is accused of pulling out a knife and threatening a fellow bar patron to the point where a Good Samaritan took her to the ground and subdued her until police arrived, authorities said.
Jeanette Sandoval, 58, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.
She was taken into custody at about 11:40 p.m. yesterday from the area of 19th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Officers responded to Eddy’s Bar and Liquor, located at 504 JFK Blvd., on a report of a patron threatening another with a knife.
According to the 51 year-old female victim, while seated at the bar eating, Sandoval sat next to her and, without provocation, threatened her with physical harm.
While verbally threatening her, Sandoval brandished a knife and utilized it to further threaten harm to the victim.
Sandoval was ultimately taken to the ground by another patron and held until police arrived on scene. The on-scene investigation led to her being positively identified as the aggressor and taken into custody, police said.
