In an editorial, Jersey City resident James Calderón explains why voters need to elect Ward E Councilman James Solomon, not Jim McGreevey, to be their next mayor.

On December 2, 2025 Jersey City returns to the ballot box! And together we will vote for James not Jim.
James Solomon is the right person for the position and is our best option. James has been an independent voice for Jersey City since his public servant career begun in 2017.
James has the strongest team and shows his vision for Jersey City.
For citywide councilperson (often called At-Large) he chose experience and representation of our diverse city and invited Rolando Lavarro, Michael Griffin and Mamta Singh to join his vision.
Rolando is an experienced councilman whom allows his intelligence on policy, passion for Jersey City and ethical standards represent our community well.
Michael brings passion for our blocks and our youth that will allow our community to be a part of the future of Jersey City. Mamta brings representation for a large ethnic community of our city long overdue in the halls of City Hall.
I am so proud of our city in 2025. There was an amazing turn out of voters this year and an array of candidates. Mussab Ali brought the passion of us born and raised in this great city. Bill O’Dea has always represented us well, so hats off to him.
I hope they continue to shape the conversation and encourage them to reach out to James.
Our future begins today. A better future has to exist for our city. We need a future of fairness, hope and enfranchisement of all.
The Statue of Liberty is our neighbor, so let’s make sure we represent her well and vote for intelligence, passion and ethics. Vote James not Jim!
