On a day where the early morning work commute was riddled with public transportation delays, there were somehow no injuries after a man drove an NJ Transit police SUV into the Hoboken Terminal.Â

“At approximately 8:00 a.m. a person entered a New Jersey Transit Police K-9 SUV near Hoboken Terminal and proceeded to drive the vehicle into a set of doors of the Hoboken Terminal waiting room,” NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder said in an email.
“The impact caused significant damage to the waiting room doors. No injuries have been reported. The suspect was arrested at the scene and is in custody.”
NJ Transit police detectives are trying to determine more information about the intent of the suspect and while train service has not been impacted, ticket windows are closed and the on-board ticket purchasing surcharge has been waived, Snyder added.
Furthermore, a temporary waiting room and restroom have been made available on a train on Track 8, officials said.
