“I want to start by saying what I like best about Paul is that he is grounded in good. Like me, he grew up without a lot of money, but was taught to work hard, know the difference between right and wrong, be gracious with others and give back to his community. These basic principles are what defines him,” she wrote in an email blast.

” … Paul is a good person, who listens and works collaboratively with others, who prioritizes quality of life concerns and in particular those of our seniors and children, and who digs deep to find the best solutions for our problems, big and small. What more could you want in a representative? Oh, that he is independent, will support all good policies regardless of the source, and is not afraid to push back and challenge the status quo? Yep, that too.”

Ahead of a Round 2 that pits Presinzano against Rent Leveling and Stabilization Chair Rafi Cordova, the vast majority of electeds have picked a side, none of which are particularly surprising for regular political observers in the Mile Square City.

Cordova has been endorsed by Mayor Ravi Bhalla, Council President Emily Jabbour, 5th Ward Councilman Phil Cohen, Councilman-at-Large Joe Quintero, and Board of Commissioners Chair Anthony Romano (D-5), who is also the city’s deputy director of public safety.

While Councilman-at-Large Jim Doyle hasn’t formally backed a candidate as of this writing, he attended Cordova’s campaign kickoff.

In the other corner, Presinzano has the support of Fisher, 4th Ward Councilman Ruben Ramos, and 6th Ward Councilwoman Jen Giattino.

Notably, the only incumbent who decided not to seek re-election this year, 1st Ward Councilman Mike DeFusco, along with 3rd Ward Councilman Mike Russo, an expected candidate for mayor in 2025, have not endorsed and aren’t expected to as of now.
