“Please avoid the area surrounding Hoboken Shoprite (900 Madison Street). Emergency units on currently on scene investigating a bomb threat,” the Hoboken PD tweeted.
“Please avoid this area while our officers continue the investigation. We will update this tweet as more info becomes available.”
Last month, the Hoboken PD investigated “a suspicious package” at the nearby Amazon Flex warehouse, located at 940 Monroe St., but that threat also turned out to be unfounded.
At 4:37 p.m., the PD said the area is clear and is being reopened to the public.
Just received word from on-scene commanders – All Clear. The area will be reopened to the public.
