Ydalia Genao’s bio on the Union City Board of Education website identifies her as the newest trustee – a graduate of James Ferris High School and Hudson County Community College, the latter where she received a degree in early childhood education.
The bio, which calls her “an employee of the New Jersey State Legislature,” also says she is a former substitute teacher.
The date of her appointment to the volunteer board was not explicitly stated.
According to public records, Genao is a full-time mayoral aide for Stack at City Hall, where she operates as his scheduler and office manager, as well as a part-time legislative aide for his role in Trenton – focusing on constituent affairs.
She has worked as a legislative aide since June 1, 2009 and earns a salary of $60,000, records show. Details of her compensation at City Hall were not available.
On top of those three aforementioned roles, Genao is also Stack’s designee on the Union City Planning Board – another volunteer position – according to meeting minutes as recent as October 23rd.
An email address attached to Genao’s BOE profile was defective and therefore she could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
