Scarinci, a childhood friend of U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ), said Fulop’s Atlantic City bash in the midst of the annual League of Municipalities event was a big hit, saying it would’ve been great if he had a camcorder handy.

Scarinci is also the corporation counsel in West New York, additionally, his firm represents the city of Union City and has several legal contracts in Jersey City – including the Board of Education.

Menendez has made a number of appearances alongside Fulop in Jersey City in recent months, including the Martin’s Place grand opening, the launch of JerseyOn at Lincoln High School – both in September – and the duo also traveled to Washington D.C. together last month.

Fulop, who defeated incumbent Jerramiah Healy for the Jersey City mayor’s seat in May 2013, is yet to formally announce a gubernatorial run, but is generally viewed as one of the more obvious candidates from the Democratic party.

Other Democrats expected to throw their hat into the June 2017 primary race are Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3) and deep-pocketed philanthropist/former U.S. ambassador to Germany Phil Murphy. Sweeney and Murphy were both said to have a strong presence in AC this weekend as well, per Politicker NJ.
