Budweiser Clydesdales trot their way down Washington Street in Hoboken

The Budweiser Clydesdales trotted their way down Washington Street in Hoboken yesterday to celebrate the anniversary of the Prohibition repeal.

The eight-horse brigade, with their iconic red wagon in tow, briefly shut down traffic on Washington Street as they traveled between 1st and 8th Streets, beginning around 3 p.m. yesterday.

Hundreds of people were happy to endure the cold in order to see the world-renowned horses.

Along the way, several bar owners received cases of Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager – which ended up being opportune times for photo ops.

“The iconic Budweiser Clydesdales have remained a symbol of Budweiser’s heritage, tradition and commitment to quality for more than 85 years,” Anheuser-Busch said in a statement

“Since the hitch was created in 1933 as a present to August A. Busch, Sr. to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition, the Budweiser Clydesdales have served as an American icon that celebrates and honors the things that make America special.”
