“Annette’s many years of community and government experience will serve her well as she works with her colleagues on these two important committees,” Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32) said in a statement.

“I look forward to her knowledge and expertise on critical state issues such as reducing gun violence and making New Jersey communities safer.”

In the same statement, Chaparro, who is engaged to Hoboken Police Chief Kenneth Ferrante, said she is interested in serving on public safety-based committees.

“Law and Public Safety and Homeland Security are two issues I am very interested in,” she said. “I am eager to work with my colleagues on legislation that will strengthen state law and increase public safety.”

Chaparro currently works for the Hoboken City Clerk and has also served as Division Head for Hoboken Taxi and Livery & Constitution Services.

Additionally, she has served as board secretary for the Hoboken Planning and Zoning Boards and was also a member the City’s Rent Control Board.

Beyond Hoboken, the 33rd Legislative District also includes Weehawken, Union City and parts of Jersey City.
