Hudson County Young Republicans Chairman Joshua Sotomayor-Einstein said in a statement they are “thrilled to engage our Democrat brothers in a dialogue about where our nation and state is going†adding that “it will be an epic battle of ideas that will benefit the community.â€
In a similar vein, Hudson County Young Democrats President Brian Platt stated “well-informed voters are crucial to an effective democracy,†going on to say “we are hoping that this event will inspire meaningful discussions around some of our most pressing issues.â€
The October 17 event, moderated by Newark Inc.’s Mark Bonamo, will be broken up into three segments: a happy hour meet and greet, a debate of pre-selected issues, followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
The happy hour is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and the debate is set to commence at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door or online on the Hudson County Young Democrats website.
Proceeds from the event will go to local Hoboken non-profit True Mentors.
