A shooting in West New York has left one man dead and one man injured, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced on social media.Â

The fatal shooting occurred near the intersection of 61st Street and Park Avenue, prompting an investigation by the prosecutor’s homicide this unit early this morning, according to a tweet the HCPO sent out at 6:26 a.m.
The tweet also indicates that the second man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
West New York police deferred comment to the prosecutor’s office, where a spokesman said that no further details would be released until tomorrow.
