Jimmy Elvira-Quintero, 40, of West New York, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (knife), and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

He is in custody at Hackensack University Medical Center and will be transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility when cleared.

At approximately 5:54 a.m. yesterday, the West New York Police Department was notified of an injured person at 4914 Murphy Place.

Responding officers located the lifeless body of a woman, later identified as 24-year-old Daniela Garcia-Murillo, with apparent stab wound(s) to the abdomen. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:31 a.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and this matter is being investigated as an act of domestic violence.
