The pregame ceremony included West New York Honor Guard members Police Lt. Marcos Garciga, Det. Yousef Awadallah, as well as Officers Madelyn Velazquez and Jose Alicea.

The opportunity was made possible by Joseph Roque, the son of Mayor Felix Roque, submitting a written request to the Red Sox entertainment management department.

“As the Mayor and Police Commissioner of the Town of West New York, I am extremely proud of the men and women serving our great town.  Special thanks to my son, Joe, for making this possible for us,” Felix Roque said in a statement.

The trip to Fenway Park was sponsored by the West New York Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA), as well as contributions from the Town’s Policemen’s Supervisors Association (PSA).

The Red Sox dominated the game, winning by a final score of 8-0.
