“We had a Halloween parade for all the children, we had about 450 children, and they marched around the field in full costume,” explained Mayor Richard Turner, with 1st Ward Councilwoman Carmela Silvestri-Ehret noting a Trunk or Treat commenced after the parade.

“And every department in City Hall was represented: the police, the fire, the ambulance, the library, the finance department, the recreation department, so everybody had a display and it was just a great day.”

Children spotted on the field were decked out in a variety of different costumes including ghosts, ghouls, super heroes, princesses, skeletons, snowmen and a whole lot more.

Turner added that witches were a popular costume this time around, while Silvestri-Ehret mentioned she saw a number of Harry Potter outfits.

The event was hosted free of charge, exclusively for Weehawken residents, and lasted from about 2 p.m. until around 4 p.m.
