In Guttenberg, the team backed by Mayor Wayne Zitt, again utilizing the “Working Together” banner, features newcomers Krysta Alvarez and Blanca Garcia Popiel – who will join Trustee Amani Syed.

They will all be seeking three year terms while Trustees Ruth Olsen and Lorena Rivarola opted not to seek re-election.

Over in the Mile Square Square City, the “Hoboken Together” team remains in tact from 2017, with Board President Sharyn Angley again running alongside Trustees Chetali Khanna and Melania Tekirian.

While the Hoboken school board elections were often contentious during former Mayor Dawn Zimmer’s tenure, there hasn’t been a full fledged opposition slate on the ballot in the past three years.
