The break occurred at roughly 3 a.m. this morning near the intersection of Washington and Essex Streets and has suspended light rail service between Marin Boulevard and Exchange Place, officials said.

According to a tweet from Suez Water North Jersey, formerly United Way, repair crews continue to work and “water pressure is beginning to return to affected customers.”

The company also indicated that there is a boil water advisory at this time and there is currently no timetable for when the repairs will be completed.
