Union City Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution authorizing bids for a shared service agreement with the Jersey City Incinerator Authority for the collection and disposal of solid waste and recyclables.

Stack, who also represents a large portion of Jersey City in the New Jersey State Senate, ripped Galaxy Recycling, the current garbage hauler for Union City when explaining the resolution.
Stack answered a follow-up question from Hudson County View about the bid specs regarding the length of the shared services contract.
Finally, Stack made it clear that Union City would continue to do pickups for non-solid waste and recyclables.
