Sources: Hudson County Prep, McNair High Schools evacuated due to bomb threats

Hudson County Prep and McNair Academic High Schools were evacuated earlier today due to bomb threats, sources told HCV.

Hudson County Prep students were evacuated and escorted to the Jersey City Armory, located at 678 Montgomery St., so that authorities – including the Jersey City Police Department and Hudson County Sheriff’s office – could investigate the threat this morning. 

A few hours later, a similar threat was made at McNair Academic High School and that facility was also evacuated, sources said. 

Sources also said that neither threat is expected to be credible, but officials are still following all the usual procedures and protocols to ensure no students are put in harms way.

School officials, as well as a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, did not immediately return inquiries seeking comment.
