The West New York Police Department raided a residence on 51st Street last night, uncovering large quantities of prescription pills, according to an eyewitness.Â

The eyewitness source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, told Hudson County View the raid was in progress at around 8 p.m. Friday, near approximately 500 51st Street, with officers leaving the premises with boxes filled with prescription drugs.
Additionally, the source stated that their was heavy police activity in the area for several hours, though was unsure if any other branches of law enforcement aided the West New York police in the drug bust, nor if the investigation was completed as of this writing.
Town spokesman Pablo Fonseca and Police Director Robert Antolos did not immediately return calls seeking comment on Saturday.
