At approximately 1:44 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department reported a strong armed robbery at the 7th Heaven Food Mart & Gas, located at 376 Paterson Plank Road, in Jersey City and subsequently put out a be on the look out (BOLO) for the suspect, Hudson County Sheriff’s Office Frank Schillari.

At around 3:00 p.m., a Hudson County Sheriff’s Office patrol identified the vehicle matching the description of the BOLO in the vicinity of Lincoln Park in Jersey City and assisted the JCPD in apprehending the suspect, he added.

“Due to the quickness of the situation and the suspect’s high risk of escaping, the arresting officers did not have sufficient time to put on their facial coverings. The suspect is now in custody of the JCPD,” Schillari said.

On Friday afternoon, Jersey City spokesman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said that Devon Robinson, 27, of Hoboken, was charged with robbery, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a weapon after robbing a gas station attendant of $600 cash.

She also credited the Hoboken Police Department for helping to identify the alleged attacker.
