The Record reported that the 19-year-old driver from Jersey City, who is yet to be identified, had to be helicoptered to the Hackensack University Medical Center “with severe lower body injuries” and no one else was hurt, East Rutherford Deputy Police Chief Ed Bury is quoted as saying.

The teenager’s Toyota Camry reportedly collided with another vehicle after crossing over the median, which caused a chain reaction accident with three other cars – including a tractor trailer, Bury also noted.

The accident occurred near East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium, causing major delays into Hudson County between the hours of about 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. this morning.
