A third woman has come forward and accused former New Jersey Schools Development Authority Chief of Staff Albert Alvarez of sexually assaulting her, specifically accusing him of spiking her drink, according to a report by the New Jersey Globe.

“I don’t know what he put in the shots. The next thing I remember, I woke up naked on his mattress,” Jáuregui, a former Latino magazine publisher, told NJG.

John Hogan, an attorney, for Alvarez, said that Jáuregui used to date his client and that “they had consensual sexual relations multiple times.”

Alvarez, the Latino outreach coordinator for Phil Murphy before getting hired in Trenton, has put the new governor’s administration under fire.

Last week, Katie Brennan, the chief of staff at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, accused Alvarez of raping her following a 2017 campaign event for Murphy.

The accusation has led to the case being reopened outside of Hudson County, though Prosecutor Esther Suarez has stood by her office’s decision not to charge Alvarez, and investigations into Alvarez’s hiring being started by both Murphy and the state legislature.

Following Brennan’s claim, a second woman, who has remained anonymous up to this point, alleged that Alvarez inappropriately touched her at a party while they were in law school nearly two decades ago.
