The Strides for Safety 5K is an opportunity for the Hudson County community to run or walk to raise awareness and end gun violence.
“Hudson County must continue to work together with the community and community organizations if we are going to end gun violence and save our residents and families from its devastating impact,” Hudson County Executive Craig Guy said in a statement.
“Which is why I’m inviting all residents to participate in this year’s annual Strides for Safety 5k Against Gun Violence. Beyond this event, this means forging an effective coalition of parents, young people, religious leaders, committed advocates and law enforcement that are all committed to building a County where everyone can thrive – free from the fear of gun violence.”
This year, the County is debuting a new USATF-Certified 5K Course that showcases Lincoln Park.
Following the race, runners and walkers, as well as their families, are invited to the awards ceremony with light bites and refreshments as well as musical entertainment, family activities, local safety community organizations, and health-focused vendors offering
yoga classes, smoothies, and massages.
Registration ends on September 15th and can be done here.
