The event will take place HCCC’s Culinary Conference Center, located on 161 Newkirk St. in Jersey City, on Tuesday, November 12th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
“Access to affordable higher education is essential for building a brighter future. This seminar is a great opportunity to empower students with the knowledge they need to secure the financial support they deserve,” Ramirez said in a statement.
“I’m honored to be able to give back to my community by helping others access these life-changing opportunities.”
The seminar will aim to guide those who are considering postsecondary education on how to navigate the financial aid process, and will include the options for financial aid that are available through HESAA.
There will also be information about HESAA’s NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application for NJ Dreamers ineligible for federal student aid.
As a student, Ramirez was enrolled in the New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program, which provides financial assistance to students from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
“The New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority is always happy to help raise awareness about the generous financial aid available in the Garden State and to assist students in navigating the application process,” added HESAA Executive Director Margo Chaly.
“I encourage students and families to attend this event and visit our website at www.hesaa.org to learn more about how to access the support you need to pursue a postsecondary education in our state. Your college degree is closer than you think.”
