A 53-year-old Jersey City man is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy who was in his custodial care, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Francisco Espinal, 53, of Jersey City, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, and third-degree hindering, Suarez said in a statement.
He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on yesterday at approximately 2:30 p.m. The alleged incident is said to have occurred at an undisclosed date earlier this month.
Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest.
A detention hearing for Espinal is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 24th.
