Prosecutor: Jersey City man, 36, charged with sexually assaulting girl, 14, in his apartment

A Jersey City man, 36, has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl, 14, he met at a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail stop in Jersey City, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Earlier today, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Cashmere Mudayh, 36, of Jersey City, on charges relating to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl he met at a light rail station.

Mudayh is charged with one count of sexual assault, a second-degree crime, and endangering the welfare of a child, a third-degree crime. He was arrested at his home and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

The crime occurred on Monday, April 18th at Mudayh’s Fulton Avenue apartment after he met the victim at a Jersey City light rail station.
