Yesterday, at approximately 6:42 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to 196 Clinton Ave. on reports of an aggravated assault, Suarez said in a statement.

Responding officers found a 22-year-old woman with a serious apparent stab wound. The woman was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where she remains in stable condition.

At approximately 10 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified an injured person was located at 186 McAdoo Ave.

Responding officers found the lifeless body of a man – later identified as Jason Khusial, 21, of Jersey City – with multiple apparent stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:14 a.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. A preliminary investigation determined Khusial had also been injured during the Clinton Avenue incident.
