Prosecutor: 2 men charged with fatal Jersey City shooting that killed Newark man, 34

Two men are charged with a fatal Jersey City shooting that killed a 34-year-old Newark man last month, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Quadre Domnie, 21, of Jersey City, and Jekhi Wade, 19, of North Plainfield, are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and receiving stolen property.

Both were arrested without incident in last night in the area of Cator Avenue and Rose Avenue in Jersey City. Domnie and Wade are being held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearances.

On Sunday, June 12th, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of shots fired in the area Forrest Street and Martin Luther King Drive.

An injured male victim of the shooting – later identified as Kyle Howard, 34, of Newark – was privately transported to Jersey City Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 a.m. on June 13th.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit for the investigation and arrest with the assistance of the Jersey City Police Department.
