Police: Woman arrested outside Hoboken City Hall for bird feeding dispute, spits on cop

A woman was arrested outside Hoboken City Hall last week for a bird feeding dispute where she struck the victim with a cane, later spitting on one of the police officers who was arresting her, authorities said.

Tara Montefusco, 45, of Jersey City, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault, and throwing bodily fluids, as well as being processed for an open warrant, according to Police Det. Lt. Jonathan Mecka.

On Saturday, November 12th at approximately 11 a.m., Hoboken police officers responded to City Hall, 94 Washington St., over a dispute regarding feeding the birds.

Montefusco was arrested for hitting the victim with a can during the dispute and also spitting on one of the officers.

Her charges were placed on a warrant and she was transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
