Police: Two charged with stealing $6,400 in products from Hoboken CBD shop

Two people were charged with stealing $6,400 in products from a Hoboken CBD shop last week, with police making the arrests yesterday.

Maribel Rosario 40, of Lockport, NY and Joshua Medero, 33, of Union City, were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary, theft, and fencing, according to Det. Lt. Jonathan Mecka.

Additionally, Medero was charged with hindering, authorities said.

On Thursday, July 7th, Officer Dylan Archilla was dispatched to The Green Room, 64 Newark St. on the report of a commercial burglary. According to the employee, several CBD products were stolen with an estimated approximate value of $6,400.

Once the initial report was completed this case was assigned to Det. Edward Lepre. During his investigation, Lepre was able to confirm that a man and a woman worked together to commit the burglary.

At this point, Lepre provided Hoboken police officers with a BOLO (be on the lookout) for these individuals.

Yesterday, Officer Jessica Pizzane observed and stopped a male and female in the area of 100 Hudson St. At that time, Dets. Lepre, Michael Losurdo, Fabian Quinones, and Tyler Soto responded to the scene.

During the on-scene investigation the two individuals were placed under arrest and identified as Medero and Rosario.

Once at headquarters, they were issued the aforementioned charges, while Medero also had an outstanding warrant issued by Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

Medero’s charges were placed on a warrant and he was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, while rosario’s Charges were placed on a summons and she was released once she was processed, police said.
